What’s in a (domain) name?

Hello Internet!

I’m shopping for a domain name for my portfolio website (a more selective and refined portrayal of my work than wertle.com, which is more of a personal dumping ground), and as you can probably guess, I’m suffering from the common name fate. What tips do you have for portfolio website domain names?

Here are some things that are available:

(regular old LisaBrown.anything seems to be unavailable)

I also considered making a subdomain off my animation group website, so something like lisabrown.argproductions.com or lisa.argproductions.com, which would probably read more professionally to people than lisabrown.wertle.com

  1. Try playing around with your name a bit more. You even may come out with an even cooler and memorable name.

    Some Suggestions: DeeBrown.com, Browndesign.net, Deelisa.com, Kentuckyfriedwebsite.com 😉

    1. However, as a German i must say that the word “brown” in a domain name awakens very strange feelings within me. :S

But i just may see things different than other people worldwide. Just wanted to say it so that you take that into account too.

  2. the shorter and easier to remember, the better. I bhought mine as jlabel.net short for jrrhack label. My name isn´t jrrhack or label, but it´s my professional alias.
Like someone said before, LDBFolio seems good, or Brownlee, or Leebrown, Lizbrown etc
